Dietary Advice + Method Notes

  • Contraindications

    • Client is on Roaccutane or any skin thinning medications or treatments.
    • Client has been in direct sun within 24 hours.
    • Client has exfoliated their skin within 48 hours prior to facial.
    • Client has a Rosacea flare-up or excessive redness or inflammation.
    • Avoid areas if client has cold sores on or around the mouth.
    • Client has wounds or broken skin.

  • Do Not

    • Steam the skin.
    • Use a Nutra Peel exfoliant.
    • Add skin needling, dermaplaning or microdermabrasion to this facial.

  • Post Treatment Advice

    • Avoid AHA based skin care or exfoliation for 48 hours post treatment.
    • No direct sun exposure for 48 hours after the treatment.
    • Always prescribe Skin Juice home-care products to maintain results.

Method

STEP 1: CONSULT 

Use our consultation guide to have a conversation with your client before beginning their treatment. 

Take your time to really delve into what your client and their skin needs so you can confirm the perfect product matches. A mixologist needs to know the skin dietary restrictions so be sure to check the contraindication and any allergies. 

- TIME STARTS NOW -

STEP 2: FIRST CLEANSE

Position the client on their back with the upper portion of the bed raised to their liking, so they aren’t lying flat. Add a rolled towel under the knees for extra support. 

Use your Smudge Budge to cleanse the skin, focusing on the eyes. 

Massage approximately 2ml (a blueberry sized amount) of Smudge Budge over the face, eyes and décolletage. Add warm water to fingers and massage again to emulsify. Use a warm, damp compress to remove. 

STEP 3: SECOND CLEANSE 

Select a suitable Juice Cleanser to compliment your client’s skin type. Warm 3ml of your chosen cleanser in your fingertips and massage over the face, neck and dĂ©colletage. Add warm water to fingers and massage again. Use a warm, damp compress to remove.  

- AT 10 MINUTES -

STEP 4: EXFOLIATE 

Select the appropriate exfoliating product. You can choose between the Revival Face Scrub or a Facial in a Jar to exfoliate the skin. 

NB: As this Facial includes a face massage, we do not recommend using the Nutra Peels as they may overstimulate and sensitise your client’s skin. 

  • REVIVAL: Mix a small amount of Revival (approximately 5ml) in a small bowl with Coconut Cream cleanser. Apply to the face and then dampen fingertips before massaging the face very gently. Use a warm compress to remove. 
  • FACIAL IN A JAR:  Select the appropriate Facial In A Jar for your client and before applying, let the client know that the mask may tingle and to alert you if it becomes uncomfortable. Do not leave your client while it is on their skin. Take a pump of the gel mask (approximately 3ml) and, using your fingers, massage it onto your client’s skin. Starting by applying to the t-zone, jawline, sides of the face, then finishing with the cheeks. Continue down the neck to the dĂ©colletage if required. Avoid the eye and lip area. Leave on the skin for 3-5 mins before gently compressing to remove.  

STEP 5: TONE  

Select a Skin Drink toner and apply to the face (approximately 3ml). Use fingertips for Bio Juice and cotton pads for Multi Juice. Allow to absorb. 

STEP 6: NOURISH  

Select the appropriate face oil for your client. Take 2-3 drops of the oil (approximately 1ml) and press this onto your client’s skin.  

STEP 7: MASK 

Select the appropriate mask for your client from either Vanilla + Honey and Plum Power and apply (approximately 10ml) with a mask brush. Leave on the skin for approximately 10-15 minutes and remove with a warm compress. While the mask is on perform a hand massage using the Perfect Paws Cream (approximately 10ml). 

- AT 40 MINUTES -

STEP 8: MASSAGE

Using the Green Juice (approximately 3ml), perform a 20-minute massage. Include the face, neck, shoulders and back. Use a warm compress to remove any excess oils.

STEP 9: MOISTURISE

Select a moisture product suitable for your client’s skin and the time of day and apply to face and eye area (approximately 1ml).

STEP 10: COMPLETION

Use the remaining time to perform a scalp massage to complete the treatment and advise your client of treatment advice.
